To celebrate World Pokémon Day, my team and I launched Catch 151, a 24-hour flash auction designed to give fans a once-a-year reason to go all in. With Pokémon being one of the most culturally dominant and collectible categories on eBay, we tapped into the global anticipation around February 27 to reinforce eBay as the ultimate destination for collectors. On the day itself, we unlocked a curated drop of 151 of the most coveted Pokémon cards and collaboration items in the world, ranging from rare Charizard and Pikachu cards to luxury pieces like the Fendi x FRGMNT x Pokémon Peekaboo bag featuring Dratini. With auctions starting at just $1.51, fans had a narrow window to bid before time ran out, turning the holiday into a high-stakes race to catch ultra-rare collectibles before they disappeared.
